Job summary

LV Petroleum in Garden City, KS, is seeking an Assistant Shop Manager to support the Truck Services Manager in running the Truck Shop. You will supervise technicians, ensure customer service excellence, and uphold safety and quality standards.

You’ll help manage inventory, schedule workloads, assist with repairs, and engage customers to resolve concerns. Strong leadership, communication, and basic understanding of P&L and service-tracking software are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; degree in management preferred.
• 3+ years in truck service or automotive, supervisory role preferred.
• Strong leadership and people management skills.
• Excellent communication and customer service abilities.
• Basic knowledge of financial metrics, including P&L.
• Proficient with computer systems and service tracking/inventory software.
• Ability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, holidays.
• Valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations of the Truck Services department.
• Supervise and train staff, promoting teamwork and accountability.
• Monitor workflow and support diagnostics and repairs of trucks/trailers.
• Maintain equipment and ensure safety standards.
• Manage inventory, orders, and timely service delivery.
• Engage with customers to address concerns and provide solutions.
• Help achieve financial goals by monitoring expenses and supporting revenue growth.
• Perform Truck Services Manager duties in their absence.
