Job Description

The Maine Department of Transportation is seeking entry-level civil engineering candidates for various positions within the Bureau of Project Development. The Highway Program position involves teamwork on roadway design and related projects.

Responsibilities include:

1. Developing Preliminary Design Reports to define project scope, estimate costs, and analyze geometric design.
2. Final design tasks such as civil/structural design, plan development, cost estimation, and compiling project specifications.

This role introduces project management principles and advanced technical duties. Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills are essential.

Qualifications

Candidates must have:

• A Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or a related field, OR
• Certification of Engineer-Intern issued by the State Board of Licensure for Professional Engineers for non-engineering graduates and non-degreed candidates.
