Position Title: Assistant Track Coach
Reports To: Director

Functions And Responsibilities

Job Summary

Provide management and supervision as Assistant Coach for the Track & Field team.

Supervisory Role

None

Duties & Responsibilities

• Familiarize yourself with the policies and procedures of the Essex County College Athletic Department.
• Demonstrate and stress good sportsmanship, punctuality, and professionalism to the student-athletes, assistant coaches, and other members of the program.
• Assist with practices.
• Attend and direct all scheduled and/or contracted intercollegiate events both home and away.
• Teach student-athletes the techniques, skills, and strategies necessary to compete at the intercollegiate level in the respective sport.
• Arrive for the competitive event no later than one hour prior to home and away events.
• Be familiar with the rules and regulations of Essex County College, NJCAA, Region 19, and Garden State Athletic Conference.
• Assist with the maintenance and collection of all uniforms and equipment issued.
• Scout opponents as instructed by the head coach.
• Be familiar with the college's academic and financial aid programs along with the enrollment process.
• Be present in the absence of the head coach.
• Report contest scores and other pertinent information to the local news media or Athletic Director designee.
• Assist and supervise student-athletes to and from practices and intercollegiate events.

Minimum Qualifications

• Ability to work with the public and institutional staff.
• 3 or more years of experience in organized and intercollegiate sports.
