Position Details

Title: Assistant Coach, Men’s Lacrosse (Offensive Coordinator)

Department: Lacrosse (Men)

Reports To: Head Men's Lacrosse Coach

Position Type: Staff

Position Summary

As an Assistant Coach for NJIT's intercollegiate men's lacrosse team, this role involves assisting the Head Coach in managing the lacrosse program and serving as the Offensive Coordinator.

Essential Functions
  1. Assist in organizing, preparing, and conducting practices, training, and competitions with an emphasis on offense. Serve as the Offensive Coordinator.
  2. Assist in recruiting prospective student-athletes in accordance with NCAA rules and standards.
  3. Provide guidance to student-athletes on navigating the collegiate athletic experience.
  4. Lead and monitor training and practice sessions, ensuring safety guidelines are followed.
  5. Assist with contest scheduling and managing the operating budget.
  6. Collaborate on purchasing equipment and uniforms.
  7. Oversee team travel arrangements and coordinate program administration.
  8. Participate in fundraising activities with University Advancement.
  9. Represent the program to institutional and external stakeholders.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree required.
  • Six to eight years of collegiate coaching experience.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations.
  • Ability to foster a cooperative environment and organize effectively.
  • Valid driver’s license and current health certifications (First Aid, AED/CPR).
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master’s Degree preferred.
