STATE OF MARYLAND is seeking a full-time Toxicology Specialist to support the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Baltimore, MD. The role involves testing biological specimens for toxic substances and contributing to cause-of-death determinations.

Qualified candidates hold a Master’s or PhD in Chemistry/Toxicology/Pharmacology (or a Bachelor’s with 2 years of forensic toxicology experience). This position is located at the Toxicology Lab, 900 W. Baltimore Street, Baltimore, MD 21223.

MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB

The main purpose of this full-time position will be to assist the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in determining cause and manner of death by conducting tests for toxic substances in biological specimens submitted by medical examiners.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Qualified candidates must possess a Master's degree or Ph.D. in Chemistry, Toxicology, Pharmacology or another appropriate science from an accredited college or university.
  • A Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Toxicology, Pharmacology or another appropriate science from an accredited college or university and two (2) years of experience in forensic toxicology.
