The Town of Garner is seeking an Assistant Town Manager to join the senior management team and advance the town’s strategic priorities. This role partners with the Town Manager and staff to ensure effective service delivery and strong Council-Staff relations in a growing community.

The ideal candidate brings 5–7 years of municipal leadership experience, a Master’s in public administration or related field, and a proven ability to work within a Council-Manager framework while engaging diverse

Qualifications

• 5–7 years of municipal management experience with at least 3 years at a department director level or above.
• Master's degree in public administration, business, or related area; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experience with a Council-Manager form of government and engaging diverse stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Lead operating and service departments including Parks, Recreation, and Public Works.
• Guide budget development and financial planning with Town Council and CIP.
• Foster relationships with staff, Council, and community partners.
• Drive strategic plan implementation and performance measurement.
