Job summary

USTA Pacific Northwest (USTA PNW) seeks an Assistant Tennis Pro for Mint Valley Tennis Center in Longview, WA. This full-time, hourly exempt position supports instruction, tournaments, and member engagement, with 18–35 dollar hourly pay plus lesson commissions.

The role emphasizes on-court coaching (90%) with some admin work; requires USTA cert or PTR/RSPA, strong customer service, and scheduling flexibility. Benefits include PTO and health options.

Qualifications

• USTA certification preferred; RSPA or PTR acceptable.
• Proven and progressive experience in leading and teaching tennis.
• Experience working with juniors and adults of all abilities in a tennis club setting.
• Demonstrated ability to build relationships with staff and customers.
• Able to work independently and with others to achieve goals.
• Strong customer service skills for internal and external customers.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• CPR and AED certification preferred.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.

Responsibilities

• Provide beginner through advanced tennis instruction to members, non-members and guests.
• Direct and support tournament administration; run 6–8 tournaments per year.
• Ensure courteous, safe, prompt, professional attention to all tennis development needs.
• Work weekends and evenings as needed to meet schedule and facility needs.
• Attend staff and management meetings and required training.
• Maintain accurate records of all lessons and clinics given.
• Promote programs, tournaments and events; pursue growth initiatives.
• Retain and grow facility memberships; keep facilities neat and clean.
