The trainee will participate in a 3,000-hour on-the-job training program involving field activities and office procedures. Successful completion may qualify the trainee for the Assistant Team Leader position. This position is not eligible for employer sponsorship except for TN visa classification.
This role is sponsored through a NYSDOT program for developing engineering technicians. Candidates with a Bachelor's degree or higher in Engineering are not eligible for this program and are encouraged to apply directly for other engineering roles at JMT.
The position involves both fieldwork and office work at our Syracuse office. Fieldwork may occur in various regions, potentially requiring day trips or overnight stays, with travel expenses covered per diem rates. Compensation ranges from $25.00 to $30.00/hour based on experience and qualifications.
Work involves field and office environments, with physical activities such as bending, kneeling, and lifting up to 50 lbs. Conditions may include outdoor exposure to various weather conditions.
