Purpose of Position
The Department of Mathematics & Statistics, housed in the College of Arts & Sciences at Northern Kentucky University, invites applications from individuals for a full-time Assistant Teaching Professor position (non-tenure track) beginning in August 2025. The selected candidate will join department faculty committed to high-quality teaching and support of student success. The newly hired faculty member will support departmental and university efforts to improve student success at the introductory level, as well as initiatives to ensure accurate math placement. The position is one that requires a presence on campus; fully remote work cannot be supported.
Faculty in the department are committed to professional learning aimed at enhancing teaching practices. They have participated in a professional learning community discussing equitable approaches to grading that led to numerous changes in grading practices. In lower-level algebra courses, faculty are working to address issues of access to high-cost publisher platforms by exploring the use of OER resources and free, customizable, online homework platforms.
