We leverage our urban location in Charlotte to provide students and faculty with unique opportunities in all aspects of Civil and Environmental Engineering.

Description of Work

The University of North Carolina at Charlotte recognizes the diversity of disciplines within its colleges and departments. The responsibilities for Non-Tenure Track Faculty should align with departmental and collegiate teaching goals.

Teaching responsibilities include subject matter competence, course design, presentation, and grading.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Support the academic mission through distinguished teaching, curriculum innovation, mentoring, and professional development.
  • Develop and teach undergraduate and graduate courses in civil engineering, focusing on structural design, analysis, and materials.
  • Contribute to curriculum development, incorporating industry trends and advancements.
  • Engage in scholarly activities related to pedagogy, curriculum development, or applied research.
  • Participate in service activities at departmental and university levels.
Minimum Experience/Education

Master's degree or terminal degree in the teaching discipline or related field.

Preferred Education, Skills, and Experience

Ph.D. in Civil Engineering or related field. Demonstrated commitment to teaching excellence, professional civil engineering experience, strong communication skills, and collaborative ability are preferred.

Necessary Licenses/Certifications

Professional Engineer (PE) licensure is preferred but not required.
