Job summary

Child Development Schools is seeking an Assistant Teacher for Toddlers and After School in Garner, North Carolina. You will work with the Lead Teacher to deliver engaging lessons, support toddlers in daily routines, and help maintain a safe, organized classroom compliant with licensing standards.

You will observe and document child development, communicate with families, and participate in ongoing professional development.

Qualifications

• At least 18 years old
• High school diploma or GED required
• Ability to pass a background check
• Genuine care for children and a commitment to safety and well-being
• Strong communication skills and ability to build relationships with families
• Physical ability to meet the demands of working with young children

Responsibilities

• Support the Lead Teacher in delivering age-appropriate lessons and activities
• Help maintain a safe, clean, and organized classroom meeting licensing and ratio requirements
• Engage directly with children during activities, meals, transitions, and outdoor time
• Observe children and share developmental notes with the Lead Teacher
• Build relationships with families through warm, consistent daily communication
• Assist with classroom documentation including attendance and daily reports
