Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Minimum one year of experience with students receiving special education services.
• Valid Virginia driver's license and proof of insurance if assigned driver.

Responsibilities

• Assist teacher with classroom management, instructional delivery, and behavioral support.
• Implement behavior intervention plans as directed.
• With training, obtain Safety Care certification and apply strategies to respond to and de-escalate negative behaviors.
• Maintain student records and assigned documentation timely.
• Maintain confidentiality of student and school information.
• Communicate professionally and with dignity and respect to students, parents, staff.
