Job summary

Specialized Education Services, Inc. (SESI) is seeking an assistant teacher to support small-group instruction and work with diverse students with special needs.

You will partner with teachers to implement SESIs instructional model, monitor student progress, communicate with families, and contribute to a safe, inclusive classroom environment. Qualified candidates will have a high school diploma (bachelors degree preferred) and experience with students needing additional supports.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; college experience or bachelors degree highly preferred.
• Experience working with students with special needs in an educational setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Work with a diverse group of students from varying backgrounds.
• Lead small group instruction implementing SESI7s academic rotational model.
• Partner with the teacher to provide customized behavior and academic support and conduct assessments.
• Reinforce learning and tasks, use data to select materials, and complete one-on-one tutorials.
• Assist the teacher with large group activities, grading, and monitoring student work.
• Utilize behavior support and intervention strategies.
• Support daily plans and track student growth toward goals.
• Supervise students and ensure they are monitored at all times.
