Job summary

The Westfield Area YMCA is looking for a part-time Assistant Teacher to join our team! The ideal candidate is energetic, reliable, and highly motivated with strong communication skills.

You will work with the Head Teacher to implement planned activities and curriculum that promote youth development, social responsibility, and healthy living. The role requires experience with children aged 2.5 years to kindergarten, and a genuine interest in teaching and education.

Qualifications

• CDA; or AA Degree in a related field; or HS degree and 1 year experience working with children
• Strong communication skills required
• Creativity, initiative and flexibility are essential

The Westfield Area YMCA is looking for a part‑time Assistant Teacher to join our team! Candidates must be energetic and highly motivated with strong communication skills.

The Assistant Teacher works together with the Head Teacher while implementing planned activities and curriculum to promote youth development, social responsibility and healthy living. The ideal candidate is reliable, flexible with their schedule, has experience working with children (2.5 years old - kindergarten) and has a genuine interest in teaching/education.

Responsibilities

• Assisting Teacher with daily classroom activities

• Aiding in preparing materials for lessons
• Supervising and interacting with children
• Creating a nurturing and warm environment

Available shift

Monday - Friday 2:30pm/3:00pm to 5:30pm

Pay

$17.00-$20.00, commensurate with education and experience
