Job summary

Amego School is searching for energetic and passionate Assistant Teachers! The assistant teacher’s primary duties are to ensure the safety and well-being of students with autism, as well as implement educational and behavior programming as directed by the head teacher and BCBA (Board Certified Behavior Analyst).

Qualifications

• Provide educational opportunities with the firm belief that everyone is capable of learning.
• Ability to implement behavioral support strategies and collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
• Experience supporting students with autism in a school/residential setting is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide educational opportunities with the firm belief that everyone is capable of learning.
• Teach students as directed by the head teacher.
• Follow student behavior plans as directed by the BCBA.
• Reporting to residential group home work sites multiple days per week to assist students in preparing for school.
• Assisting students with toileting and showering as needed.
• Performing physical management strategies to keep students and others safe from challenging behaviors.
• Observe and safeguard student rights as mandated reporters.
• Participate in the general upkeep of the school and residential group homes.
• Write incident reports as necessary and to company standards
