Waypoint Services for Women Children and Families is hiring an Assistant Teacher for the KidsPoint Downtown location in Cedar Rapids, IA. This full-time role supports the Lead Teacher, engages toddlers 18-24 months, and helps create a safe, fun learning environment. Starting pay is $15/hour with a Monday–Friday schedule and a 10:30am–5:45pm shift.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• 1 year of childcare experience required.
• CPR/First Aid and Mandatory Reporter trainings completed or willing to obtain.

What You’ll Do

As an Assistant Teacher, you’ll support the Lead Teacher and help create a safe, structured, and engaging learning environment.

What You’ll Need

To be successful in this role, you should:

• At least 18 years old
• Have a high school diploma or GED (or in progress)
• Have 1 year of childcare experience required
• Feel confident interacting with children and communicating with parents
• Be willing and able to complete required trainings (CPR/First Aid, Mandatory Reporter, etc.)
• Have reliable transportation and a strong commitment to being on time
• Be able to stay active throughout your shift and lift up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to meet background check and health screening requirements
