Waypoint is seeking a Part-Time Substitute Teacher to support classrooms for children aged 6 weeks to 5 years at KidsPoint C Street in Cedar Rapids. The role offers a flexible schedule, starting pay of $14.50/hour, and weekday hours from 6:30 AM to 5:45 PM.

You’ll join a team focused on creating a fun, safe, and engaging environment while building relationships with families and colleagues. Ideal candidates are energetic, patient, and passionate about early childhood development.

Qualifications

• Communication skills for engaging with children and families.
• Ability to work with a team and follow guidance.
• Reliability and punctuality are essential.
• Adaptability to move between classrooms and routines.
• Feel confident interacting with children and communicating with parents.
• Be willing and able to complete required trainings (CPR/First Aid, Mandatory Reporter, etc.).
• Be able to stay active throughout your shift and lift up to 50 lbs.
• Have the ability to meet background check and health screening requirements.

What You’ll Do

As an Substitute Teacher, you’ll jump in to support our classrooms and help create a save, fun, and engaging environment for children.

In this role, you will:

• Help lead fun, age-appropriate activities and learning experiences that keep kids engaged

Requirements

What You’ll Need

To be successful in this role, you should:

• Be at least 16 years old
• Have a high school diploma or GED (or in progress)
• Have childcare experience (preferred, not required – we’re happy to train the right person)
• Have reliable transportation and a strong commitment to being on time
• Feel confident interacting with children and communicating with parents
