Job summary

Heartworks Early Education in Vermont is seeking an Assistant Teacher to support a Certified Teacher, help implement daily lessons, and maintain an organized, eco-minded classroom in a year‑round program operating Monday–Friday, 7:00AM–6:00PM.

You will supervise children, foster safe, respectful relationships with families, and participate in ongoing training on sustainability and early childhood best practices; background checks are required.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old and a high school graduate or GED.
• One of the listed certificates or credentials with 12 months experience with children 3 or younger.
• Background check required by the Department of Early Education and Care.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Certified Teacher with daily lesson plans and learning experiences.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and environmentally responsible classroom.
• Supervise children during activities and meals and report concerns as required by law.
• Engage families with sustainable communication and participate in family events.
• Attend required trainings and support curriculum and sustainability initiatives.
