Job summary

Babilou Family US in South Burlington, Vermont, is seeking an Assistant Teacher to help support a certified teacher and contribute to a safe, nurturing, and sustainable learning environment for children ages 0-5. Qualifications

• Must be 18+ years old and high school graduate or GED.
• Certificate or degree in early childhood education or related field preferred or required by ladder/certificate options.
• Experience with groups of children 3 years or younger is valued where stated.

Responsibilities

• Assist Certified Teacher in implementing daily lesson plans and age-appropriate sustainability concepts.
• Maintain an organized, environmentally responsible classroom and follow sustainable routines for materials and storage.
• Supervise children in classroom, meals, transitions, and outdoor activities; follow safety procedures and report concerns as required by law.
• Engage families with sustainable communication and participate in family engagement events.
• Attend required trainings and collaborate with the team to enhance curriculum and sustainability initiatives.

Education

Vermont Early Childhood Career Ladder Level One or Two Certificate

CDA (Child Development Associate)

State Board of Education approved Human Services Program Certificate

Fundamentals for Early Childhood Professionals or Vermont Afterschool Essentials Certificate

Three college credits in child or human development or school age care
