Job summary

BrightPath Kids in Bear, Delaware is seeking a Teacher Assistant to support teachers and families, providing a safe, home-like environment for children from 6 weeks through 12 years, in line with NAEYC guidelines and our commitment to high-quality early education. No evenings or weekends.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old and have a high school diploma or equivalent recognized by Delaware education authorities.
• Minimum of six months’ work experience (to include 500 hours) with children birth through second grade in a group setting.
• Eligible options include TECE 1 or 60 hours of training with CDA pathways, traditional high school early care program, or six college credits with early childhood focus.

Responsibilities

• Ensure safety and supervision of children ages 6 weeks–12 years.
• Assist teachers with instruction in the classroom.
• Decorate classrooms as needed and maintain a warm, safe, clean environment.
• Interact with children to encourage participation in activities.
• Communicate effectively with parents/guardians about their child.
