Job summary

BrightPath Kids in New Milford is hiring a Teacher Assistant to work alongside teachers and families to provide a home away from home for children in our care, according to NAEYC guidelines. Responsibilities include: ensuring safety, assisting teachers with instruction, decorating classrooms, maintaining a warm and safe environment, engaging with children, and communicating with parents/guardians.

No classroom experience? We provide paid training on all classroom procedures!

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Strong customer service skills.
• Ability to multitask and remain organized.
• Ability to work within regular operating hours.
• Must meet state criteria for child care employment.

Responsibilities

• Ensure safety and supervision of children ages 6 weeks - 12 years.
• Assist teachers with instruction in the classroom.
• Decorate inside and outside of classrooms as needed.
• Maintain a warm, safe, clean environment for children to grow and explore.
• Interact with children to encourage participation in activities.
• Provide effective communication with parents/guardians about their child.
