Job summary

The Learning Experience Pewaukee is seeking a caring and dependable Assistant Teacher to join our early childhood education team. You will support Lead Teachers, help create safe, engaging classrooms, and encourage learning through play.

This is a full-time, Monday–Friday role with a competitive hourly wage of $16–$19, paid training, and opportunities to advance to Lead Teacher and other roles. A high school diploma or GED is required, with CDA or ECE coursework a plus.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Experience in daycare/preschool preferred.
• CDA or Early Childhood Education coursework is a plus.
• Patient, dependable, energetic, and team-oriented.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to meet Wisconsin childcare licensing requirements.

Responsibilities

• Support Lead Teachers with daily classroom routines and learning activities.
• Engage children through play, art, music, movement, sensory activities, and hands-on learning.
• Assist with meals, diapering/toileting, rest time, outdoor play, and transitions.
• Provide attentive supervision and positive guidance.
• Help prepare classroom activities and learning materials.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized classroom environment.
• Build positive relationships with children and families.
• Collaborate with teachers and center leadership.
• Provide classroom and ratio coverage as needed.
• Follow Wisconsin childcare licensing, health, and safety requirements.
