Job summary

Child Development Schools in Havelock, NC is seeking an Assistant Teacher to support a Lead Teacher and help create a warm, safe classroom where young learners explore and grow. You will participate in hands-on activities, storytelling, and daily routines that foster curiosity and kindness.

You will observe children, document progress, and maintain open communication with families, while ensuring licensing and safety standards are met. Prior childcare experience is a plus but not required.

Assistant Teacher -- Havelock, North Carolina

Your role

As an Assistant Teacher at Child Development Schools, you will help create a classroom filled with discovery, creativity, learning, and joy. Working alongside your Lead Teacher, you will support young learners through meaningful experiences that encourage curiosity, confidence, kindness, and growth. From hands-on activities and storytelling to everyday learning moments, you will help shape a warm and welcoming environment where children feel safe, supported, and excited to explore the world around them.

You will serve as a trusted partner to families, a positive role model for children, and an important part of our collaborative teaching team dedicated to making early childhood education engaging, nurturing, safe, and fun.

What your day looks like:

• Support the Lead Teacher in delivering age-appropriate lessons and activities for the classroom

Pay and benefits

Pay: 13-15 per hour, based on experience and education.
