Job summary

Lutheran Social Services of South Dakota (LSS) is hiring Assistant Teachers for our after-school programs serving K–5 students in Sioux Falls. Great for college students who want to gain experience while helping kids after school.

Lead pre-planned activities, build positive relationships with children and families, and help maintain a safe, welcoming environment. Part-time, with 4–25 hours weekly and $15/hour for ages 18+.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older.
• Eligibility as a college student or pursuing studies in related field is preferred.
• Successful completion of agency background checks.

Responsibilities

• Lead fun, pre-planned activities for K–5 students.

• Southern Hills – 3400 E 49th Street
• Here4Youth – 300 E 6th Street (serves youth with special needs)

What You Need

• Must be 18 years or older
• Valid driver’s license (or ability to obtain one) and active auto insurance
• Must meet licensing requirements: no substantiated child abuse/neglect reports and no felony within the last 5 years
• Successful completion of all agency background checks
• A genuine desire to help kids learn and grow!
