Brightside Academy is seeking a caring, dependable Assistant Teacher to foster a safe, engaging classroom where children learn and thrive. Opening, closing, and full-time shifts are available, with a national curriculum and supportive team across PA centers.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; 2 years of experience with children or a CDA, 45 PD hours, or 9 ECE credits.

Responsibilities

• Support a high-quality, age-appropriate classroom experience.
• Help implement engaging lesson plans and learning activities.
• Maintain a safe, welcoming, and well-organized classroom.
• Supervise children and support daily routines, transitions, and classroom ratios.
• Support each child’s developmental needs and adjust activities as needed.
• Work closely with the Lead Teacher, families, and center leadership.
• Follow all health, safety, licensing, and classroom-ratio requirements.
• Step into Lead Teacher responsibilities when needed.
• Complete annual professional-development requirements (24 hours or 8 college credits annually).

What We’re Looking For

• High school diploma or equivalent; 2 years of experience working with children or a CDA, 45 PD hours, or 9 ECE credits
• Opening, closing, or full-time shift availability
• Strong organization, communication, and classroom-management skills
• A nurturing, dependable, energetic approach to working with children
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
• Ability to read/write English and use basic Microsoft Office tools
• A plus: an Associate degree in Child Development or coursework completed toward an Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education
