Brightside Academy is seeking a caring Assistant Teacher to help create a safe, engaging classroom where children can learn, grow, and thrive. Opening, closing, and full-time shifts are available.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; 2 years of experience working with children or a CDA, 45 PD hours, or 9 ECE credits.
• Opening, closing, or full-time shift availability.
• Strong organization, communication, and classroom-management skills.
• A nurturing, dependable, energetic approach to working with children; read/write English.
• A plus: Associate degree in Child Development or coursework toward an Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education.

Responsibilities

• Support a high-quality, age-appropriate classroom.
• Help implement engaging lesson plans and activities.
• Maintain a safe, welcoming, and well-organized classroom.
• Supervise children and support daily routines, transitions, and classroom ratios.
• Support each child’s developmental needs and adjust activities as needed.
• Work closely with the Lead Teacher, families, and center leadership.
• Follow health, safety, licensing, and classroom‑ratio requirements.
• Step into Lead Teacher responsibilities when needed.
• Complete annual professional development requirements (24 PD hours or 8 college credits each year).
