Assistant Teacher Responsibilities

As the Assistant Teacher you will provide developmental care for young children ranging from infant to Pre‑Kindergarten. You will enrich children's development by:

• Assisting the planning and implementation of daily activities that are culturally relevant and developmentally appropriate,
• Maintaining the general safety and health of the children according to established standards, and
• Fulfilling daily administrative processes including health checks, attendance, observations, report sheets, and CACFP meal sheets,

Qualifications

• Must be eighteen years of age or older.
• High school diploma or equivalency, 15 – 30 Early Childhood Education credits from an accredited college or university, and one year previous experience working with children (1250 clock hours).
• Must provide or be able to obtain child abuse history, state criminal history, FBI criminal history, and national sex‑offender history clearances.
• Must be or be able to become Mandated Reporter certified.
• Must provide non‑communicable diseases physical exam report and TB test by the Mantoux method conducted within one year of hire date.

Physical Demands

The Head Teacher Assistant is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms and occasionally use legs to lift/move up to 50lbs.
