Job summary

The Nurturing Nook, Inc. in Fox Point is seeking an Assistant Teacher to support the Preschool classroom. A high school diploma or GED and the ability to pass background checks are required, along with one year of licensed classroom experience and completion of Intro to Childcare.

Shift: Monday through Friday, 8:15am to 5:15pm. Compensation ranges from $15 to $17 per hour, depending on education and experience.

Responsibilities

• Assist the lead teacher with all classroom aspects per the center's philosophy and goals.
• Implement activities that promote growth across emotional, social, cognitive, creative, and physical domains.
• Accept feedback and make improvements to the program quality.
• Create and maintain a clean and safe environment for all children.
• Establish professional rapport with families to provide quality care.
• Demonstrate physical ability to work around children, including lifting up to 40 lbs.

Job description

The Nurturing Nook in Fox Point is a licensed childcare center seeking an Assistant Teacher to support the Preschool classroom.

To be QUALIFIED for this position, we require a high school diploma OR GED and the ability to pass all background checks. One year experience in a licensed classroom setting and Intro to Childcare must be completed.

Required Shift: Monday - Friday, 8:15am-5:15pm

Compensation: $15-17/hr, based on education and experience

• Assist the lead teacher with all aspects of the classroom in a manner consistent with the philosophy and goals of the center.
• Implement activities that encourage each child’s growth in the areas of emotion, social, cognitive, creative, and physical development.
• Take direction, accept constructive criticism, and feedback, and make improvements and changes as necessary for the betterment of the quality of the program.

• Create and maintain an environment that is clean and safe for all children.
• Establishing a professional level of rapport with each family to provide quality care for the children.
• Physical ability to work around small children including sitting, standing, walking, running, and climbing stairs.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 40 lbs. and fulfill all physical requirements of the role.
