Responsibilities

• Support classroom teaching as directed by the lead teacher.
• Assist in daily activity documentation and incident/behavior reporting.
• Communicate effectively with the lead teacher to support daily routines and classroom management.
• Maintain a safe, clean, orderly classroom and help keep the facility organized.
• Prepare learning materials as directed by the teacher.
• Foster positive relationships with parents at drop-off and pick-up.
• Assist in facilitating classroom routines when the lead teacher is absent.
• Attend all required trainings and staff meetings.

• 7:15 am - 12:45 pm (27.5 hrs/wk).
• 7:15 am - 3:45 pm (40 hrs/wk).
• 9:15 am - 5:45 pm (40 hrs/wk).

Pay Rates

• High school student assistants – $18.00/hour.
• Assistant Teachers – starting at $18.50/hour (based on education and experience).

Key Duties And Responsibilities

A Grace Beginnings Academy Assistant Teacher is passionate about supporting and caring for young children in a Christ-centered environment. The ideal candidate models Christ-like patience and grace, collaborates with the lead teacher, and supports each child’s growth in physical, social-emotional, cognitive, and spiritual development. This role helps implement Christ-centered lessons and activities rooted in play and exploration. This is a year-round position.

• Support the educational experiences in the classroom as directed by the classroom teacher.
• Assist in completing daily activity documentation and incident/behavior reports as directed by the classroom teacher.
• Communicate and collaborate effectively with the classroom teacher to support daily routines, classroom management, and the overall learning environment.
• Assist the classroom teacher in maintaining a safe, clean, organized classroom, and take responsibility for completing the duties required to keep the facility orderly.
• Assist in prepping learning materials as directed by the classroom teacher.
• Approach behavioral issues that arise with children with Christ-centered love, respect and patience.
• At drop-off or pick-up, foster positive relationships with parents.
• Facilitate the classroom routines and activities when the classroom teacher is absent.
• Attend all required training and staff meetings throughout the year.
• Regular, consistent, and punctual attendance is essential for this position.
• Maintains licensing compliance.
• Other duties as assigned.

• Educational requirements: High School Diploma required.
• Experience required: Must meet licensing requirements for an assistant.
