Job summary

Kids N Fitness of Decatur South is seeking Assistant Teachers to support our School Age program. We require a high school diploma or GED and the ability to pass all background checks.

Aplus if you have previous childcare experience. This is a full‑time role with Monday–Friday, 8:30am–5:30pm, in Decatur, IL. Compensation is $17/hour, with benefits including paid trainings, 401k with match, and discounts for childcare.

• Ability to pass all background checks.
• A plus if you have previous childcare experience.

Responsibilities

• Willingness to substitute for any position as needed, covering breaks and absences and taking on classroom duties.
• Demonstrate patience, kindness and positive interactions with children, parents and staff.
• Operate as a team member and assist where needed under the lead teacher.
• Maintain physical ability to work around small children, including sitting, standing, walking, running and stairs.
• Lift and carry up to 40 lbs and meet all physical requirements.

Main Job Responsibilities:

• Willingnessto effectively substitute for any position as needed. This includes covering staff members’ breaks, filling in for staff members in their absences, and assuming the classroom duties of staff members before or after their scheduled shifts.
• Demonstrate patience, kindness and positive interactions with all children,parents,and staff.
• Operate as a team player and willingness to help where needed under the director of the lead teacher.
• Physical ability to work around small children including sitting, standing,walking,running, and climbing stairs.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 40 lbs. and fulfill all physical requirements of the role.
