Job summary

The YMCA of Greater Brandywine is hiring for a full-time childcare position at Upper Main Line YMCA in Berwyn, PA. The role focuses on supervising students, providing a safe environment, and engaging children in developmentally appropriate activities.

Training and DHS compliance are required within 90 days, with robust benefits and PTO for full-time staff. The ideal candidate holds a high school diploma or GED, 2,500 childcare hours, CDA certification, and education credits in early childhood,

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or GED and 2,500 hours of childcare experience preferred.
• 30 credit hours of early childhood, elementary or related human services field education.
• 15 college credit hours and one-year experience related to the care.
• 2,500 hours of service and a current CDA certificate.
• Maintain an up-to-date DHS file and obtain trainings within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Maintain supervision of all students.
• Provide a safe, clean, and risk-free environment.
• Engage with the children to encourage development and participation.
• Maintain attendance and incident records and sign in/out sheets.
• Greet parents and children daily and report concerns to the lead teacher or director.
• Use positive guidance to support children and follow procedures.
• Provide care for the needs of children and ensure policy compliance.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

What You’ll Do

• Maintain supervision of all students.

• Maintain maintenance records, including, but not limited to: accident and incident reports, sign in/out sheets, attendance records.
• Greet parents and children daily and report or direct parental concerns to the lead teacher or director.

• Follow DHS procedures and help others do as well.
• Provide care for the needs of children.
• Ensures compliance with all YGBW policies and standard operating procedures.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications: What You'll Need

• Must have a high school diploma or GED and 2,500 hours of service (2 years) of childcare experience preferred
• 30 credit hours of early childhood, elementary or related human services field education
• 15 college credit hours and one‑year experience related to the care
• 2,500 hours of service
• Current CDA certificate
• Must keep an up‑to‑date DHS file
• Obtain and maintain all new hire certifications and trainings within 90 days of hire
