Job summary

The Learning Experience – Clarkston is seeking a positive and dependable Assistant Teacher to join our early childhood education team. You will support Lead Teachers with classroom routines and learning activities, helping children learn through play and safe, engaging activities.

You'll collaborate with teachers and center leadership to maintain a clean, safe classroom, follow Michigan childcare licensing requirements, and contribute to a nurturing, growth-focused environment for every child.

Qualifications

• Dependable, patient, energetic and team-oriented.
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• CDA or Early Childhood Education coursework is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Support Lead Teachers with classroom routines and learning activities.
• Engage children through play, art, music, sensory activities, and hands-on learning.
• Assist with meals, diapering/toileting, rest time, outdoor play, and transitions.
• Provide attentive supervision and positive guidance.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized classroom.
• Build positive relationships with children and families.
• Collaborate with teachers and center leadership and follow licensing requirements.

Pay:

$16–$18 per hour (based on experience and credentials)

Schedule:

Full-Time, Monday–Friday
