Job summary

Birch Tree Academy is seeking a floater teacher to join our STEM-based preschool. You will collaborate with the lead teacher and lead the class in all activities, planning daily lessons and maintaining a safe, nurturing environment.

This is a full-time position (40 hours/week) with a pay range of $21.50–$23.50 per hour and a strong benefits package. Responsibilities include assisting in teaching, promoting multicultural education, communicating with parents, and ensuring orderly classroom

Qualifications

• Experience in childcare preferred (1 year).
• Relevant experience preferred (3 years).
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Ability to meet state accreditation requirements.

Responsibilities

• Help teach a class of 12 students.

• Plan and teach daily activities aligned with curriculum.

• Attend to children's basic needs which might including: feeding them, dressing them, etc
• Supervise class projects, field trips and visits by guest teachers
• Establish consistent communication with parents and children
• Write weekly class and individual student updates to parents

Qualifications

Personal

• Must be at least 18 years old
• Must have ability to meet state and/or accreditation requirements for education and experience
• Must have CPR and First Aid Certification or willingness to obtain
• Must have impeccable references and a proven track record of caring and nurturing children
• Must have excellent organizational skills
