Job summary

Birch Tree Academy in Woodinville, WA is seeking a floater teacher who brings enthusiasm, patience, and a caring approach. You will collaborate with the lead teacher and assist in guiding the class in all activities, while upholding a supportive learning atmosphere.

The role involves full-time hours, classroom planning, and engaging with families to support children's development. CPR/First Aid or willingness to obtain is required; state requirements apply.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• CPR and First Aid Certification or willingness to obtain.
• Impeccable references and a proven track record of caring and nurturing children.
• Excellent organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Help teach a class of 12 students.
• Work a full-time schedule (40 hours a week).
• Help plan and teach daily activities and lessons that correspond with the curriculum.
• Help promote multi-cultural education.
• Maintain a safe and healthy environment.
• Help students learn classroom rules and procedures, as well as personal responsibility and respect for fellow students.
• Use appropriate behavior management and classroom discipline.
• Attend to children's basic needs including feeding and dressing as needed.
• Supervise class projects, field trips and visits by guest teachers.
• Establish consistent communication with parents and children.
• Write weekly class and individual student updates to parents.

• childcare: 1 year (Preferred)
• relevant: 3 years (Preferred)

Personal

• Must be at least 18 years old
• Must have ability to meet state and/or accreditation requirements for education and experience
• Must have CPR and First Aid Certification or willingness to obtain
• Must have impeccable references and a proven track record of caring and nurturing children
• Must have excellent organizational skills
