Job summary

Beacon Hill Schools in Georgia seeks an Assistant Teacher at our Watkinsville, Athens, and Bogart locations. You’ll help create a warm, nurturing classroom and bring learning to life through hands-on activities while ensuring a safe, engaging environment for young learners.

You’ll support the Lead Teacher with daily lessons, assist with caregiving tasks, supervise transitions, and build positive relationships with children and families.

Qualifications

• GED or high school diploma required.
• CDA/TCC or early childhood credential preferred.
• CPR/First Aid certification or willingness to obtain.

Responsibilities

• Support Lead Teacher with daily lessons using Frog Street curriculum.
• Assist with caregiving tasks, including diapering, toileting, and meal routines.
• Help maintain a clean, organized, and engaging classroom environment.
• Assist with classroom management and encourage positive behavior.
• Supervise children during indoor and outdoor play, meals, rest time, and transitions.
• Foster relationships with students and families through kind, professional interactions.
• Ensure compliance with state licensing requirements and school policies.

Assistant Teacher

Qualifications

• CDA, TCC, or experience working toward an early childhood education credential preferred
• GED or High School Diploma required
• At least 6 months of experience in a licensed childcare setting (or strong desire to learn)
• CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
• Must pass all required background checks and meet DECAL requirements
• A team-player attitude with a love for working with children
• Ability to lift up to 40 lbs. and stay actively engaged throughout the day
