Job summary

Bandit Lites, Inc. seeks an Assistant System Integrator to help translate concepts into construction documents and support onsite issue resolution.

You will assist with system design, planning, integration, quoting, and coordinating labor and equipment for lighting, rigging, drapery, and related systems. This role requires CAD proficiency and knowledge of major lighting control systems, with travel to project sites as needed.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in theatre/theatrical design.
  • 3+ years of technical lighting experience at the professional level with leadership responsibilities.
  • Intro knowledge of theatrical and architectural lighting systems and high‑end control systems such as ETC, STRAND, AVOLITES, MA.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with system design, planning, integration, quoting, and coordinating labor and equipment.
  • Create submittal packages, control system layouts, integration drawings, BOMs, and material delivery schedules.
  • Review proposals, perform take-offs, and collaborate with purchasing and accounting for cost accuracy.
  • Coordinate with vendors, contractors, and internal teams to ensure proper implementation.
  • Provide onsite technical support and resolve issues promptly.
  • Maintain project documentation and support R&D for standards and practices.

During the construction process they will support System Integrators with providing direction and resources for the resolution of issues onsite as instructed. Duties include assisting with system design, planning, integration, quoting, coordinating labor and equipment, ordering items, and shipping. Project disciplines will include performance lighting, performance rigging, architectural lighting, stage draperies, and other associated systems.

Job Responsibilities and Requirements

  • Understands, abides by, and instills the philosophy, policies, and procedures of Bandit Lites.
  • Participate in project design by attending (as needed) coordination and design meetings, assessing integration needs, and identifying system requirements and deliverables.
  • Assist the Project System Integrator with the development of integration solutions for various systems, including theatrical and architectural lighting, rigging, drapery, and third-party systems.
  • Create submittal packages, control system layouts, integration drawings, detail drawings, BOMs, and material delivery schedules to communicate system solutions.
  • Review proposals from external consultants, perform take-offs, and collaborate with purchasing and accounting teams to ensure cost accuracy and alignment with project budgets.
  • At the direction of the System Integrator they will coordinate with vendors, contractors, and internal teams to ensure that integration solutions are implemented accurately and efficiently.
  • Work with logistics and inventory specialists to allocate project inventory.
  • Provide technical support to the installation team onsite, ensuring compliance with project plans and resolving any issues promptly.
  • Review project site reports regularly to track progress and assist in addressing and resolving any problems that arise.
  • Assist with shipping and receiving materials, ensuring proper coordination for installation and project setup.
  • Contribute to the ongoing development of integration project standards, practices, and research and development projects as required.
  • Maintain project documentation and file management systems to ensure all information is accurate and accessible.
Requirements and Expectations
  • Introductory knowledge of theatrical and architectural lighting systems, including control and integration with other systems, and hands-on experience with high-end lighting control systems such as ETC, STRAND, AVOLITES, MA, and others.
  • Practical experience working with various lighting fixtures like Vari-Lite, Martin, Robe, Clay Paky, and Chauvet, as well as rigging equipment used in live events and installations.
  • Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, Vectorworks, REVIT) for creating and modifying technical drawings, layouts, and system designs for lighting installations.
  • Technical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills for resolving technical issues that arise during system integration, installation, or operation.
  • Capability to assist the installation process, monitor progress, resolve onsite issues, maintain safety and efficiency.
  • Must be able to work at heights.
  • Willingness to travel to various project sites as needed for installation and troubleshooting purposes.
  • Ability to lift up to 50lbs and to stand/walk for extended periods.

Qualifications

Education: Bachelor's degree in theatre/theatrical design
