Job summary

YMCA of the Iowa Mississippi Valley is seeking an Assistant Swim Coach in Eldridge, IA to support the Head Coach in developing competitive swimmers through skill mastery and goal setting.

You will provide age-appropriate instruction, promote good sportsmanship, and help plan daily practices. Candidates should have coaching or competitive swimming background and be available evenings and weekends. CPR/AED/First Aid and Lifeguard certs (or willingness to obtain) are required.

Qualifications

• Competitive swimming or coaching background preferred.
• Strong communication and leadership skills with youth and families.
• Ability to work evenings and weekends for practices and meets.
• CPR/AED, First Aid, and Lifeguard certifications (or willingness to obtain).

Responsibilities

• Assist the Head Coach in daily practice planning and implementation.
• Provide positive, safe, and age-appropriate instruction to swimmers.
• Foster teamwork, sportsmanship and YMCA core values in and out of the pool.
• Assist with swim meets, including warm-ups, timing, and coaching on deck.
• Maintain a safe and supportive environment for all participants.

SCHEDULE: Must be available during team practices and meetsPAY RATE: $12.00The purpose of the Assistant Coach is to aid the Swim Team Head Coach in the development of competitive swim team participants through mastery of skills, knowledge of the sport, and goal setting.
