Springbrook NY, Inc. in New York is seeking a Grounds Maintenance Supervisor to lead landscaping, grounds operations, and snow removal with hands-on participation.

You will organize staff work plans, oversee day-to-day grounds activities, promote safety, enforce policies, and ensure equipment and grounds are kept in safe, clean condition to support the individuals we serve. The role requires strong communication, multi-task management, and prompt emergency responsiveness.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required; graduation from an accredited technical or vocational program preferred.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience in grounds maintenance and/or construction with supervisory experience preferred
  • Working knowledge of equipment and methods used in lawn care and snow removal operations
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work extended hours and respond to on-call situations as needed
  • Proficiency with common computer applications, including Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to interact effectively with all levels of personnel
  • Sound judgment and reasoning abilities
  • Exceptional organizational skills
  • Must meet requirements to operate a Springbrook vehicle
  • Ability to safely lift up to 50 pounds

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine landscape maintenance including mowing, trimming, pruning, soil preparation, planting, mulching, and leaf removal.
  • Perform all phases of snow removal including plowing, salting, shoveling, and roof clearing.
  • Assume a maintenance leadership role through direct workload participation, organization, and oversight of grounds-related activities.
  • Develop and manage staff work plans based on agency needs and goals.
  • Promote and maintain a safe working environment for staff and the individuals we support.
  • Maintain and enforce agency policies and procedures.
  • Operate land-clearing and earth-moving equipment as needed.
  • Maintain work areas, equipment, and tools in safe and working condition.
  • Assume accountability for agency equipment and ensure proper care and usage.
  • Perform all duties in accordance with current safety standards and best practices.
  • Respond to emergency situations and on-call requests as required.
  • Adhere to all Springbrook policies and procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
