The Governors Club is seeking an Assistant Golf Course Superintendent to help oversee daily maintenance, including turf care, irrigation, pest control and landscaping at our premier Middle Tennessee golf community.

Applicants should hold a Turf Certificate or a turf management degree; we welcome those currently enrolled in turf programs. Training will be provided; state pesticide license is required.

Essential Job Functions:

• Assist in overseeing daily maintenance operations, including turf grass care, irrigation, pest control and landscaping


• Support the development and implementation of maintenance plans, considering factors like weather, playing conditions and budget constraints


• Maintain a working mechanical knowledge of golf course equipment


• Ensure all company policies and procedures are followed including compliance with government regulations


• Ensure that all golf course employees are properly trained on equipment function


• Incorporate safe working conditions and safe playing conditions into job performance


• Communicate with fellow staff, including but not limited to Assistant Superintendent, Superintendent, General Manager and Ownership


• Available to work flexible hours, including early mornings, weekends and holidays based on operational demands


• Maintain up-to‑date certifications and licenses in agronomy or turf management

About The Governors Club

In 1799, Colonel John Winstead and family first took possession of the rich farmland that would for the next two centuries be home to them and their descendants. Here Winstead built a two-story log home, which they lived in until 1854 when a son, John M. Winstead, constructed the elegant, tall-pillared home, which is known today as Pleasant Hill Mansion.
