Job summary

Cityscape Recruitment USA in Wayne, NJ is seeking an experienced Assistant Construction Superintendent to join a well-established General Contractor on public-sector projects. You will support field operations, help manage schedules, and assist the Superintendent to keep projects on track.

Requirements include 2+ years in commercial construction, ability to read drawings and specs, Procore or similar software, strong communication skills, and OSHA 30 certification is a plus.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of commercial construction experience in an Assistant Superintendent or equivalent.
• Public-sector project experience is strongly preferred and beneficial.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
• Strong communication and organizational skills; detail oriented.
• Experience with Procore or similar construction software is preferred.
• OSHA 30 certification is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Superintendent with day-to-day management of construction projects.
• Coordinate subcontractors, vendors and site activities to maintain schedules.
• Monitor work for quality, safety and compliance with plans and specs.
• Assist with scheduling, site logistics, inspections and daily reports.
• Review drawings, specifications, RFIs and submittals.
• Coordinate with project managers, subcontractors, consultants and owners.
• Identify and resolve field issues and keep projects on schedule.
• Maintain a safe, organized, and productive jobsite.
