Job summary

Grunley Construction is seeking an Assistant Superintendent to support the on-site Superintendent across a Norfolk project. The role focuses on safety, coordination, and the care and use of construction tools within a defined project area.

The candidate will report to the Superintendent and the Director of Field Operations, with requirements including a High School Diploma, 3 years of Foreman/Field Engineer experience (or 8 years in lieu of a degree), and OSHA 10, CPR, First Aid certifications.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma is required.
• Minimum of 3 years as Foreman or Field Engineer; or 8 years of construction experience if no degree.
• OSHA 10 hour certification, CPR, and First Aid certifications are required.

Responsibilities

• Support the Superintendent on site and manage daily tasks.
• Supervise a specific part of the project and coordinate subcontractors.
• Promote safety, monitor conditions, and enforce safety protocols.
• Read, understand and communicate information from construction drawings and specifications.
• Maintain and inventory tools and equipment.
