Job summary

Balfour Beatty US is seeking an Assistant Superintendent in Hermiston/Umatilla, OR. This role assists the Superintendent by managing designated field activities and supervising subcontractors and employees to ensure the project is built on time, within budget, and in accordance with Balfour Beatty Construction’s policies and procedures.

Qualifications

• Proficiency with PC and Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• B.S. in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred; 4–7 years of experience.

Responsibilities

• Reviews and updates progress and cost reports, schedules, and requirements for completion.
• Participates in preconstruction planning regarding schedule and budget; reviews estimates and cost control.
• Ensures subcontract work and materials comply with contract documents and quality specifications.
• Directs subcontractor and field personnel; communicates expectations on schedules, methods, safety, and policies.
• Maintains site safety; ensures company assets are secure and project environment remains respectful.
• Attends weekly progress meetings with subcontractor representatives.
• Assists in project closeout by settling financial obligations and transitioning to customer.
• Builds relations with customers and design teams to meet expectations.
