Job summary

Grunley Construction in Washington, DC is seeking a Foreman/Field Engineer to support the Superintendent on high-profile projects. You will collect subcontractor manpower reports, fill daily reports, handle deliveries, and help solve on-site issues.

You will supervise part of the project, coordinate subcontractors and Grunley manpower, read drawings and specs, conduct safety meetings, and ensure work aligns with the project schedule.

Qualifications

• Three (3) years minimum as Foreman or Field Engineer with knowledge of multiple trades; or eight (8) years of construction experience with knowledge of multiple trades in lieu of a degree.

Responsibilities

• Support of Superintendent: collect subcontractor manpower reports; fill daily reports; handle deliveries; solve problems or escalate to Superintendent.
• Supervise part of project: coordinate subcontractors; direct Grunley manpower; read, understand, and communicate drawings/specifications.
• Safety: conduct safety meetings; monitor project for unsafe conditions; provide direction to correct unsafe conditions.
• Coordination: coordinate work with subcontractors; coordinate Grunley work with project schedule.
• Tools: maintain and inventory tools.

Qualifications

• Required Education
  • High School Diploma
• Required Experience
  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience as a Foreman or Field Engineer with knowledge of multiple trades. In lieu of a degree, eight (8) years of construction experience with knowledge of multiple trades.
• Required Certifications
  • 10 hour OSHA
  • CPR Certified
  • First Aid Certified (current or able to obtain before project start date)
• Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Ability to learn new technical and non-technical information and apply it in the field
  • Effective communication with staff at all levels of field operations
  • Self-starter who can execute and complete assigned activities
