Job summary

The NC Department of Adult Correction seeks a senior program lead at Catawba Correctional Center in Newton, NC. You will supervise program services, coordinate rehabilitation initiatives, ensure policy compliance, and guide staff development within a 246-bed facility.

The role also serves as Associate Warden during the Warden’s absence, rotating as Officer in Charge and Duty Officer, with a schedule Monday–Friday 8am–5pm and 24/7 availability as needed.

Qualifications

• Leadership and staff supervision experience preferred.
• Experience applying departmental policies and correctional programming knowledge beneficial.
• Familiarity with offender rehabilitation strategies and program evaluation.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and oversight for facility programs including classification, chaplaincy, recreation, transitional services, work assignments, healthcare, and education.
• Supervise direct and indirect staff; manage recruitment, performance, and budgeting processes.
• Ensure program integrity, policy compliance, and alignment with standards; conduct audits and inspections.
