Job summary

Plantation Preserve Golf Course & Club seeks an Assistant Golf Course Superintendent to assist in daily maintenance, agronomic programs, and staff oversight. You will help keep greens, tees, and fairways in championship condition, and lead in the Superintendent's absence when required.

The role demands hands-on leadership, effective crew communication, and flexibility for early mornings, weekends, and holidays as operations demand.

Qualifications

• Experience as a golf course Assistant Superintendent.
• Knowledge of turfgrass species, agronomic practices, irrigation systems, and golf course equipment.
• Ability to lead and communicate effectively with maintenance crews.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Golf Superintendent with daily course maintenance operations, including turf care and task execution.
• Supervise maintenance personnel, ensuring productivity, quality standards, and safe practices.
• Help implement agronomic programs such as mowing, irrigation, fertilization, and aeration.
• Monitor course conditions and communicate recommendations to maintain turf health and playability.
• Assist with irrigation system operation, troubleshooting, and repairs.
• Support equipment oversight, including use, cleaning, maintenance, and repairs coordination.
• Ensure adherence to safety policies, OSHA requirements, and environmental standards.
• Assist with inventory management for chemicals, supplies, and materials in compliance with regulations.
• Participate in planning for tournaments, events, weather impacts, and seasonal demands.
• Perform other tasks as assigned.

The Assistant Golf Course Superintendent at the Plantation Preserve Golf Course & Club assists in managing the daily maintenance, agronomic practices, and staff operations of the golf course. This hands-on, supervisory role ensures that greens, tees, and fairways are maintained to the highest championship standards, and steps in to lead the facility in the Superintendent's absence.

Responsibilities:

• Assist the Golf Superintendent with daily course maintenance operations, including turf care, crew scheduling, and task execution.
• Supervise and lead maintenance personnel, ensuring productivity, quality standards, and safe work practices are followed.
• Help implement agronomic programs such as mowing, irrigation, fertilization, aeration, pest control, and cultural practices.
• Monitor course conditions and communicate recommendations to maintain optimal turf health and playability.
• Assist with irrigation system operation, troubleshooting, and repairs.
• Support equipment oversight, including proper use, cleaning, preventative maintenance, and coordination of repairs.
• Ensure adherence to safety policies, OSHA requirements, and company environmental standards.
• Assist with inventory management for chemicals, supplies, and materials in compliance with regulations.
• Participate in planning and preparation for tournaments, special events, weather impacts, and seasonal demands.
• Performing other tasks as assigned.

Requirements:

• Experience as a golf course Assistant Superintendent.
• Working knowledge of turfgrass species, agronomic practices, irrigation systems, and golf course equipment.
• Ability to lead and communicate effectively with maintenance crews.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including early mornings, weekends, and holidays as required by golf operations.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to operate maintenance vehicles and equipment safely.
