Job summary

Just Construction is seeking an Assistant Superintendent to support the day-to-day delivery of commercial projects in Southwest Florida. This field-focused role requires hands-on construction knowledge and the ability to work closely with subcontractors.

The successful candidate will read plans, coordinate trades, maintain schedules, monitor quality, and help drive projects from site logistics to closeout. A strong work ethic and proactive problem-solving are essential to success.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of commercial construction experience.
• Experience as a Field Engineer, Project Engineer, Assistant Superintendent or similar role.
• General Contractor experience strongly preferred.
• Experience with multifamily, hotel/hospitality, medical office buildings or general commercial construction is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Superintendent with daily management of commercial construction projects.
• Coordinate subcontractor activities and maintain production across the jobsite.
• Review plans, specifications and construction documents.
• Assist with site logistics, deliveries, sequencing and manpower coordination.
• Maintain short-term and look-ahead schedules with the Superintendent.
• Monitor subcontractor progress and quality of work.
• Assist with field coordination between trades.
• Identify potential construction issues and communicate them to the Superintendent.
• Assist with quality control and inspections.
• Coordinate inspections and help maintain project schedules.
• Assist with field measurements, layout and verification of existing conditions.
• Maintain daily reports and site documentation.
• Track materials, deliveries and equipment.
• Participate in subcontractor and project meetings.
• Assist with punch list, final inspections and project closeout.
• Help maintain a clean, organized and safe jobsite.

• Ability to read and understand architectural, structural and MEP drawings.
• Strong subcontractor coordination and communication skills.
• Ability to hold trades accountable for schedule, quality and completion.
• Strong work ethic and organizational skills.
• Hands-on, proactive approach to construction.

Pay range and compensation package

The majority of projects are around $15M–$20M, with larger projects also undertaken, including multifamily developments approaching $80M+.
