Job summary

Talent ACQ is seeking an Assistant Superintendent to lead on-site field operations for projects across Boston, Cape Cod and the Islands. You will work with the Superintendent to manage safety, quality, schedule, and coordination with subcontractors, suppliers, and authorities.

You'll review drawings, manage logistics, run meetings, and document progress while traveling to project sites as needed. This role requires hands-on leadership and a thorough understanding of construction practices.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of construction field experience in related roles.
• Ability to read and interpret drawings, specs, and shop drawings.
• Strong commitment to jobsite safety.
• Experience coordinating subcontractors on active jobsites.
• Willingness to travel regularly to project sites throughout Central Mass, Boston, Cape Cod and the Islands.

Responsibilities

• Support the Superintendent with day-to-day supervision of on-site activity.
• Coordinate subcontractors and field personnel to keep work on schedule.
• Manage jobsite logistics: access, deliveries, temporary facilities, equipment.
• Review drawings, specs, and submittals for constructability and coordination issues.
• Flag conflicts, unforeseen conditions, and sequencing challenges before they hit progress.
• Run and participate in foreman meetings, pre-task planning, toolbox talks, and safety meetings.
• Coordinate inspections with subs and authorities having jurisdiction.
• Maintain field documentation — daily reports, RFIs, ASIs, as-builts, JHAs, progress photos.
• Monitor workmanship against project documents and company standards.
• Support closeout: punch list, inspections, as-builts, commissioning, turnover.

The Role

You'll work alongside the Superintendent running day-to-day field operations on assigned projects, preconstruction through closeout — safety, quality, schedule, subcontractor coordination, site logistics, inspections, and documentation.

This is a real field leadership seat. You're on site, walking the job, catching problems before they cost anyone time.

What we're looking for

• 5+ years of construction field experience as an Assistant Superintendent, Foreman, Field Engineer, or similar
• Strong grasp of construction methods, building systems, sequencing, and site logistics
• Experience coordinating subcontractors and field personnel on active jobsites
• Ability to read and interpret drawings, specs, and shop drawings
• Working knowledge of jobsite safety requirements and a real commitment to them
• Comfortable with Procore, P6, Bluebeam, and Microsoft Office (or similar)
• Someone who spots the issue and brings a solution, not just the problem
• Bachelor's in Construction Management is a plus, not a requirement

Travel

Regular travel to project sites throughout Central Mass, Boston, and Cape Cod and the Islands.
