Job summary

Ulta Beauty in Akron, OH is seeking an Assistant Stylist in a temporary role to learn and support guest consultations on hair care needs and product recommendations. The position emphasizes mentorship by an Elite or Master Stylist for the first 3 months, then progressively servicing guests while focusing on performance, people, and process.

Applicants must hold a Cosmetology license and be able to work a flexible schedule including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays; safety and sanitation

Qualifications

• Cosmetology license.
• Basic understanding of latest salon techniques for haircutting, haircolor, lightening, styling, texture, treatment, extensions, makeup, brow services, and ear piercing where applicable.
• Ability to develop skills across service categories.
• Basic understanding of equipment and chemicals used for technical work.
• Basic understanding to demonstrate, recommend, and sell pro hair care and makeup products.
• Developed communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to build and maintain strong customer relationships and clientele.

Responsibilities

• Deliver exceptional guest service and contribute to meeting or exceeding store goals related to retail and service sales, guest loyalty, and retail shrink as set by Ulta Beauty.
• Support mentor Stylist in meeting or exceeding sales and productivity goals for hair services and haircare products by add-on recommendations and styling services.
• Assist with foils, shampoo and treatment process, blowouts, color applications, and related services.
• Perform hair services after month three, including cuts, color, styling, and treatments where applicable.
• Demonstrate products to guests to drive sales and enhance the guest experience.
• Follow safety, sanitation, and infection control procedures and store policies.
