General Summary & Scope

The Assistant Stylist engages with guests, consults on hair care needs, and recommends products and services. This temporary position prepares talent for a stylist role, focusing on guest service, technical skills, and product knowledge. Mentorship is provided by an Elite or Master Stylist for the first 3 months, with responsibilities expanding to servicing guests independently in months 4-6.

Principal Duties & Responsibilities

The Assistant Stylist champions Ulta Beauty’s mission, demonstrating it through:

1. Performance: Deliver exceptional guest service, support sales goals, perform hair services, and support in-store events and promotions.
2. People: Develop guest relationships, serve all guests efficiently, and collaborate with team members.
3. Process: Follow policies, safety procedures, and operational standards; maintain cleanliness; attend trainings; and adhere to dress code.

Job Qualifications

Education: Cosmetology license required.

Skills: Knowledge of salon techniques, equipment, and products; strong communication; ability to work independently and in a team; client relationship skills.

Special Position Requirements: Flexible schedule including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
