Job summary

Kearney High School in the Kearney School District is seeking a High School Assistant Coach to support coaching staff and supervise athletes in practices and games. The role reports to the Activities Director within the Activities department and requires maintaining safe, organized sports programs.

Candidates should have coaching or athletic experience at HS or college level, good health, and the ability to lift 50 pounds. CPR/First Aid and teaching certificates are preferred where applicable.

Qualifications

• Coaching experience preferred.
• HS/college athletic experience preferred.
• Must maintain good health and physical condition.

Responsibilities

• Lead practice with scheduled activities.
• Attend all practices, games, and competitions.
• Report problems to Activities Director/Head Coach.
• Attend required Activities Director meetings.
• Care for equipment and facilities.
• Collect and store equipment and uniforms.
• Plan banquets and awards; schedule improvements.

Summary

High School Assistant Coach for Kearney School District.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Helps lead practice with a schedule of activities
• Attends all practices/games/competition
• Reports to the Activities Director and/or Head Coach any problems or concerns
• Attends meetings as required by Activities Director
• Assist in the care of equipment and facilities
• Assist in collection, inventory, and storage of equipment and uniforms
• Plans banquet and awards for the athletes, facility improvements, equipment to be purchased, schedule improvements, etc.

Supervisory Duties

• Supervises all athletes at contests and locker room

Qualifications

Education/Experience

• 1. Coaching experience preferred
• 2. Athletic/sport experience in High School and/or College preferred
• 3. Good health & physical condition must be able to lift 50 pounds
• 4. Knowledge of Kearney School District and MSHSSA guidelines

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

• 1. CPR and First Aid certified
• 2. Missouri Teacher Certificate and/or DESE Substitute Certificate
